As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) has received funding for the design of the new runway and taxiway system at Delaware Airpark. It will include a new Runway 9-27 (4,200 feet x 75 feet) and a parallel taxiway. The taxiway will incorporate the old runway pavement (3,582 feet x 60 feet) plus new pavement (1,300 feet x 35 feet). It also will include connector taxiways, a wetland mitigation site, lighting, signage and drainage in accordance with the 2003 Master Plan. The design project, which will culminate in the preparation of construction documents and bid packages for construction of the new Runway 9-27 system, will cost $909,806 and is 100% funded by the ARRA.In accordance with the ARRA, all reporting requirements are being furnished to the Federal Government.
