Cape May – Lewes Ferry Partners with Local Brewery; Wineries
Offers Special Wine and Ale Trail Value Packages through March 31, 2015
(Cape May, NJ) Cabin fever got you down? Looking for that unique antidote to the winter blues? Hop on the Ferry Wine and Ale Trail! The Cape May – Lewes Ferry has partnered with the Cape May Winery, Hawk Haven Winery, and Cape May Brewery to offer specially tailored, discounted wine and ale trail vehicle packages valid now through March 31, 2015. Both the wine and ale packages include a discounted round trip vehicle ticket with an additional passenger.
“Brewery and winery tastings offer visitors a look at the creative new craft products being produced in Cape May County,” said Rhona Bronson, marketing director at the Ferry. “It’s important to us to support local small year-round businesses in this growing segment of the tourism industry while offering the local community a fun, interesting day trip opportunity.”
Local wineries and breweries are an important segment to the local economies in both New Jersey and Delaware. Cape May Winery, Hawk Haven Winery, and Cape May Brewery create jobs and use locally grown agricultural commodities to produce their wines and craft brews, offering visitors an authentic Jersey Cape experience.
The Ferry has offered similar packages in both New Jersey and Delaware in the past – and they have proven to be very popular!
The current Wine Package includes tastings at the Cape May Winery and Hawk Haven Winery, round trip vehicle ticket plus driver and one passenger, and a Cape May Winery Souvenir glass for each participant.
The Ale Package includes a round trip vehicle ticket plus driver and one passenger, tour and tastings at the Cape May Brewery, and a souvenir glass for each person. Both the wine and the ale packages include a free cup of coffee inside the terminal before boarding the vessel back to Delaware.
These discounted vehicle packages are available 7-days a week to customers 21 years of age or older. Participants can choose either the ale package with Cape May Brewery or the wine package with both Cape May Winery and Hawk Haven Winery.
Delaware customers can board either the 9:15 a.m. or 12:45 p.m. departures from the Lewes terminal. For those customers interested in a day trip experience, Bronson suggested the departure time of 12:45 p.m. from Lewes and the 6:00 p.m. return from Cape May.
The return trip must be made by March 31, 2015. Reservations are required. To book your special ferry ale or wine trail package, please contact our Guest Services Department at 1-800-643-3779 (FERRY) during the 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday to reserve your space.
