Join the Cape May – Lewes Ferry Team
Job Fair Scheduled for May 18, 2013
 
(North Cape May, NJ) Today, Delaware River and Bay Authority officials scheduled a job fair to take place inside the Cape May Terminal on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The purpose of the job fair, which will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., is to attract qualified people to apply for seasonal/casual positions in various departments, including Customer Service, Food and Retail and Marine. During the busy summer season, the Ferry hires more than 250 seasonal employees.
 
“We’re excited to hold this job fair in Cape May County,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “The Authority’s a community-oriented employer and this event will provide a great opportunity for prospective candidates to speak with our hiring managers and apply onsite. Whether on land or aboard a vessel, you can’t beat a summer job at the Cape May – Lewes Ferry.”
 
What:       A job fair will be held inside the rotunda of the Cape May ferry terminal. A welcome table with job postings will be set up and candidates will be directed to the Gallery to meet with hiring managers to be interviewed on the spot. Candidates are subject to a background check and will be able to apply on-line inside the Gallery.
 
Where:    Inside the Cape May Ferry Terminal, 1200 Lincoln Blvd., North Cape May, N.J.
 
When:      Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
 
Why:         The Cape May – Lewes Ferry has nearly 60 seasonal positions currently available, including ferry deckhands, assistant engineers, clerks, administrative assistants, food service workers, retail clerks, warehouse workers, customer service, cashiers, bartenders, maintenance workers. Some supervisory seasonal positions are also available. The Authority is actively seeking local residents to fill seasonal jobs at the Cape May – Lewes Ferry.   The Authority anticipates a good turnout for his special job fair and looks forward to making this year’s pilot an annual event.

The Cape May - Lewes Ferry (CMLF) operates year round and has carried more than forty million passengers since its inception on July 1, 1964. In 2012, the ferry service, which connects Victorian Cape May, New Jersey, and historic Lewes, Delaware, transported nearly 300,000 vehicles and approximately one million passengers.
