Delaware City – Salem Ferry Offers Special Off-Season Packages

Salem, NJ- Today, the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials announced that the Delaware City-Salem Ferry service will operate between these two historic Delaware River communities on selected Saturdays this fall. If you’re looking to explore the coastal waterways and marshes surrounding Delaware City or the many historic landmarks in Salem, the Ferry’s your ticket to a fantastic day out!
 
The Delaware City – Salem Ferry will operate a special schedule on Saturdays, September 28 and October 5. Enjoy the River Town’s Ride and Fest on Oct. 5 in Delaware City! Several interesting packages are also available for visitors during this special ferry schedule, including kayaking, boating, sailing and fishing.

All water activities must be reserved in advance at the Delaware City marina. Programs start at 1:00p and 3:00p and can be reserved via email atdelawarecitymarina@rocketmail.com or by phone at 302.834-4172. For lunch and dinner in Delaware City, ferry passengers receive a 10% discount at Crabby Dicks when you show your ferry ticket. Biking is also permitted in Delaware City and in Salem City. 
 
The ferry service will run continuously between these two historic destinations. The schedule is as follows:

“The Delaware City-Salem Ferry links two cities rich in many natural and historic treasures and architectural styles and we invite you to take part in the fun,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations for the Delaware River and Bay Authority. “Whether its Delaware City or Salem, visitors have the opportunity to experience everything these great communities have to offer. And, on these special Fall Saturdays, when you buy one ticket to explore the other side of the River, you can get the second one for free!” The cost for the Ferry, which includes shuttle transportation to Salem City, is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and military, and $6 for children.
