Cape May – Lewes Ferry Saves Customers Some Green
Celebrates Earth Day with Special Discount Round Trip Fares
(Cape May, NJ) Today, Cape May – Lewes Ferry (CMLF) officials announced special one day round trip fares to celebrate Earth Day’s 44th Birthday. Vehicle customers can purchase a round trip ticket for $44.00, a savings of 35% off the published rates. The special one-day round trip fares are valid on April 22, 2014 only!
“We wanted to commemorate and celebrate Earth Day’s 44th Birthday with our customers,” said Rhona Bronson, Director of Marketing for the Ferry. “What better way than offering a special rate to encourage our customers to bicycle, walk-on or travel via the Ferry – a scenic, relaxing way to travel where you can stroll our decks, check out the lighthouses and marine life and breathe in fresh air while being ferried across the beautiful Delaware Bay.”
In addition to the discounted vehicle and driver fare, both vehicle and foot passenger fares for adults and children are discounted to $14 and $8 respectively. The special Earth Day fares are round trip and valid on April 22, 2014 only.
Bronson added that Earth Day is the perfect time to really celebrate the outdoors and take your bike on the ferry for a ride on either side. “Delaware and New Jersey have abundant trails for bicyclists and both are ranked in the top ten of Bicycle Friendly States by the League of American Bicyclists,” Bronson noted. “Bikes are always free on the Ferry, and the bicyclist would pay the one-day special foot passenger round trip fare of $14, a $4 savings.”
To receive the special Earth Day fares, customers should use the promo code EARTH when making their reservation, at the toll booth or at the customer service counters. The Earth Day fare cannot be combined with any other promotional rates.
Started in 1970, Earth Day continues to focus public attention on the unique environmental challenges of our time. Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events, activities and actions take place worldwide that demonstrate support for environmental protection and good stewardship of our planet.
