2016 Summer Concert Series Returns to Cape May Ferry Terminal
Lower Township and Cape May – Lewes Ferry Sponsor Great Free Family Entertainment
(North Cape May, NJ) – Today, Cape May – Lewes Ferry and The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation officials announced that a series of six concerts will be held on the Cape May Ferry terminal green this summer. All Cape May concerts, which are free and open to the public, begin at 5:30 p.m. and end by 8:30 p.m.
“These bands offer an array of music that is sure to please any crowd,” said Michael Porch, marketing manager for the Ferry. “Sitting on a lawn chair with family and friends listening to great music while enjoying the scenic beauty of the Delaware Bay. Now, that’s a great way to spend a Wednesday evening!”
Food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the Ferry Terminal or at the newly renovated “On the Rocks” outdoor bar and grill. Porch noted that visitors and residents should bring their own lawn chair or beach blanket to relax and have a great time on our terminal green.
“The community really comes out for these concerts,” said Jim Ridgway, Lower Township manager. “It’s great to work with the Ferry to produce these concerts at such a beautiful location. It’s a great atmosphere and we encourage our residents to come out and join the fun!”

July 13: The Sensational Soul Cruisers
The Soul Cruisers are an 11 man horn band filled with soulful vocalist who pay tribute to classic performers ranging from Otis Redding and the Drifters to Barry White and the Commodores. Throughout their 18 years together, the band has traveled to various cities and performs about 200 shows a year that capture the R&B roots from past decades.
July 20: Separate Ways The Band
Separate Ways is a band that will take you back in time and make you feel like if you close your eyes, you’re at a Journey concert. They pay tribute to Journey by performing their songs as well as early-mid 80s songs. At their shows, you’ll be sure to experience the harmonies and feelings that you would if it were a Journey concert – a true tribute.
July 27: The Glimmer Twins (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
The Glimmer Twins is a group who captures the energy of The Rolling Stones. They give a close view of what it was like to be at an actual Rolling Stones concert in the 1970s. The band consists of six members and varies in instruments like the harp, drums, bass, keyboard, and sax-flute. They’ll make you feel the sensation of the Rolling Stones’ performances.
August 3: Philbilly
This Philadelphia Country band, Philbilly, will show you a good country time with its performances. Bringing in a lot of talent, these six members have a variety of musical abilities from the fiddle, mandolin, drums, etc. You’re sure to see a good country show and get up and dance to this Philly country band
August 10: Jamison (Right off the streets of Northeast Philadelphia, the band Jamison brings high energy shows. They perform many genres such as rock, reggae, modern pop, and hip-hop dance beats but never shy away from their Irish roots. They perform all over the East Coast and really know how to get the crowd jumping.
August 17: Danny V’s 52nd St Band Danny V’s 52nd Street Band is a full band of men performing tributes to the “Piano Man,” Billy Joel. After touring for over 20 years together, this group has become the world’s longest running tribute to Billy Joel. With keyboards on hand, these shows really show off the “Piano Man” era. From 5:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m., watch the Cape May – Lewes Ferry’s summer concert series in comfort with special VIP access to the Cape May Terminal Sunset Lounge. VIP ticket holders enjoy the concerts from a private balcony deck overlooking the Green and stage with perfect, unobstructed sightlines.
