Cape May – Lewes Ferry Wins “Best of Delaware” Award
“On the Rocks” at the Lewes Terminal Recognized for Water View Dining Experience

(Lewes, DE) – This summer, the Cape May – Lewes Ferry’s “On the Rocks” Dockside Grill (OTR) in Lewes was named Best of Delaware for its waterfront dining experience. The Delaware port of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, the Lewes terminal features a picturesque view of the Delaware Bay complete with scenic lighthouses and beautiful Cape Henlopen. Delaware Today recognized “On the Rocks” Dockside Grill with the same award in 2014.

“We’re pleased that Delaware Today recognized “On the Rocks” with this prestigious award,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “Our customers enjoy not only the beautiful view of the Delaware Bay, but also the quality and variety of our food selections combined with outstanding customer service. Keeping customers happy will always be our main priority.”

Residents and vacationers alike can take a break from the ordinary and stop by in to get a view of the beautiful Delaware Bay while enjoying delicious appetizers, gourmet entrees and drinks. OTR serves various sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, seafood dishes, and sides including their own chips made right on site! Adults can also enjoy cold and refreshing beverages from the bar to cool off from the hot day or simply relax and enjoy a cocktail. “I may be a little biased, but I think On the Rocks has the best Grapefruit Crushes anywhere!, Gehrke added.

Every year, Delaware Today selects various businesses in the food, retail, and music industries, and also bases some off of locations, to receive the “Best of Delaware” awards in different categories based on their food, location, drinks, services, sales, and entertainment. Readers and critics in Delaware vote in an annual survey to determine the winner of these distinctive awards.

“On the Rocks” is open Thursday - Monday in September and during weekends in October. It’s the perfect place to get a burger and beer and bring the gang along for some Sunday football. “On the Rocks” is a Delaware lottery-authorized location for sports betting and the bar offers Sunday football food and drink specials.
