Cape May – Lewes Ferry’s Seasonal Beer Dinner Series Returns in 2017
Flights of Local Craft Beer, Fine Food and Ferry Fun; Seating Limited
(North Cape May, NJ) Looking to do something out of the ordinary after the holidays? Want relief from winter cabin fever? Or, maybe a special night out with your valentine? The Ferry has your ticket to a landside culinary extravaganza! Sit back, relax, and enjoy a full-course dinner complete with local craft brew selections on the first Friday of each month through March 2017. The first event of 2017 is set for Friday, January 6.
The Ferry has partnered with craft breweries in New Jersey to host a series of unique dinner and beer pairing in the Sunset Lounge of the Cape May Ferry Terminal. The cost for each all-inclusive, four course dinner, is $59 per person.
“We’re excited to once again be offering our beer dinner series this winter,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “Our customers really seem to enjoy the unique combinations of craft beer and gourmet food pairings, not to mention some of the discussions about the finely crafted beer. With so many great craft brewing operations in the area and the talents of our food service operation, a beer dinner series is a natural. Each dinner is different so mark your calendars. You won’t want to miss these culinary delights!”
The schedule for the Ferry’s Beer Flight Dinners are as follows:
7 Mile Brewing Company.......................................January 6, 2017
Cold Spring Brewing Company...........................February 3, 2017
Flying Fish Brewing Company.................................March 3, 2017
Slack Tide Brewing Company and Cape May Brewing Company were featured in two special Ferry Fall Beer Flight Dinners in November and December 2016 respectively. The Ferry Beer Flight dinners are beer’s equivalent to wine tastings. The focus of the Beer Flight Dinners is both to showcase the Cape May Terminal as a special event venue and to help promote the growing regional craft brewing industry in New Jersey. In addition, the gourmet 4-course dinners feature the talents of the Ferry’s award-winning resident Chef John Schlaner
Festivities kick off at 5:30 PM with a reception, including Chef's Selection of Hors d'oeuvres with “cocktail" tastings. The reception is followed by the first course, salad course, entrée and dessert selection. These dinners also feature a representative from the select craft breweries who will discuss the various beer styles served at the dinner. For the menu and beer selections for each beer dinner, please visit us online at www.cmlf.com.
Due to limited capacity and anticipated popularity of each event, reservations are required. To reserve tickets for any one of the special beer dinners, please contact our Guest Services Department at 1-800-643-3779 (FERRY) from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM seven days a week.
