Freeman Highway Bridge Concrete Work Postponed
One Day Closure Schedule to Take Place on Wednesday, May 19, 2010
(Lewes, DE) Today, Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials have rescheduled the closure of the Freeman Highway Bridge for concrete deck placement work. The closure will start on Tuesday, May 18 at 10:00 p.m. and continue until Thursday, May 20 at 7:00 a.m. Weather permitting, the contractor, Mumford & Miller of Middletown, Delaware, will be placing the new latex-modified concrete overlay on the Bridge.
During this closure, barricades with ‘Road Closed’ will be placed at both intersections and adjacent to the barrier wall on both ends of the bridge. The detour shall be Monroe Avenue/Kings Highway to Savannah Road to Cape Henlopen Drive. Detour signs will aid motorists with the alternate route. The DRBA apologizes for any inconveniences that may occur as result of the bridge closure.
