Wilmington Airport (ILG) Celebrates 200,000th Passenger
(New Castle, DE) This morning, Wilmington Airport (ILG) officials and Frontier Airlines representatives recognized the 200,000th passenger use the airport facility, marking a new record for the first 11 months of commercial service at the regional airport. The recognition ceremony took place inside the Airport Passenger terminal building at 11:00 a.m.
Kathy Clark of Lombard, Illinois was awarded a $500.00 Frontier Airlines gift card and other promotional items. Ms. Clark flew east with her daughter, Kaitlin; nieces Whitley Grant and Simone Jones; and close family friend, Ashley Lindsey, to visit colleges and universities. The Chicago-area high school juniors toured five campuses, including Yale University; John Hopkins University; University of Pennsylvania; Columbia University and Harvard University.
All travelers on Flight #383, bound for Chicago - Midway Airport, received a gift bag, containing a hat, lanyard, and a snack pack of chocolates. Frontier Airlines’ Airbus A320, which departed on time at 12:35 p.m., was sold out.
The A320, 168-seat aircraft is the largest to serve ILG for more than 25 years. The recognition of the 200,000th passenger to use Wilmington Airport (ILG) demonstrates Frontier’s success as an ultra-low cost carrier and the potential for growth of the regional airports in congested metro markets.
