Delaware River and Bay Authority Extends Art and Photography Contest Deadline
Agency Celebrates Golden Anniversary

(New Castle, DE) Today, Delaware River and Bay Authority officials announced that the deadline to submit an entry for the agency’s art and photography contest commemorating its 50th Anniversary has been extended to Monday, September 10, 2012. Individuals are encouraged to photograph, draw or paint one of the agency’s facility locations for a chance to win $500.  The contest was announced in late June.

“Because early September is a busy time of year for families, we decided to extend the deadline by a week,” said Frank Minor, Deputy Executive Director of the Authority. “It’s easy to enter and it’s free and there’s still time to submit your photo or art creation. So grab your camera, paint brush or pencil, get creative and have some fun!”

The contest is open to the public and divided into four categories: Children (4-9); Students (10-13); High School (14-17); and Adults (18 and older).

Two independent judges, one from Delaware and one from New Jersey, will rank the submissions. One winner from each category will receive a prize of $50, and their artwork will hang on display in the DRBA for one year. The overall grand prize winner will be awarded $500, and their work will also be showcased in the DRBA lobby. Winners will be announced on the agency’s anniversary day, September 20, 2012.

All submitted works become property of the Delaware River and Bay Authority.   Contestants should submit their art to the following address:
