DRBA Continues Final Construction Activity on I-295 Northbound Detour Expected for Motorists from I-95/I-495 Southbound to I-295 Northbound
(New Castle, DE) On Thursday, January 28 at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) contractors will establish a detour for motorists travelling on I-295 northbound from I-95/I-495 southbound ramp near the U.S. Route 13 Interchange.
Weather permitting, the contractor will be performing final milling and overlay on the left portion of the roadway near the Route 13 overpass, which should take approximately four hours.
Motorists travelling on the I-95/495 southbound ramp to I-295 northbound will be detoured to Route 13 northbound. Detour signage has been posted.
The DRBA has designed the projects for as few delays as possible. However, during morning and evening rush hours, some delays should be expected. The safety of the traveling public and on-site highway contractors is the agency’s highest priority. The posted speed limit of 35 mph in the construction zone will be strictly enforced. Commuters and travelers are urged to be careful and stay alert in and around construction zones, obey all posted speed limit signs, and plan to take a few extra minutes during the commute.
