Cape May – Lewes Ferry Introduces New, Improved Website
Interactive Social Media Features; Adaptable to Mobile Technology
(North Cape May, NJ) Today, Cape May – Lewes Ferry (CMLF) officials announced the debut of the ferry’s newly redesigned website that will provide customers the tools for booking a summer’s worth of fun. The site,, is more focused on customers’ needs, is adaptable to mobile technology, and features interactive social media functions. The site went live on June 6, 2013.
The revised site makes detailed information easier to navigate and more accessible to the public, including online reservations, schedules and fares, events and travel packages, destination activities, and trip planning tools. Customers can find information regarding recreational events on both the Cape May and Lewes sides of the Delaware Bay, as well as fun activities scheduled onboard. The site also includes a prominently placed alert banner that will let travelers know if there are any delays for the ferry.
“The ferry is a great way to travel from one side of the bay to the other—but there’s so much more,” said Heath Gehrke, Director of Ferry Operations. “We have special events and programs, from fireworks to music nights to fun, family-oriented cruises. The ferries and terminals also have large, open rooms that are perfect for hosting events. Our new website makes it easy to plan your next visit.”
Built on a responsive design, the new website incorporates social media plugins and resizes page views according to the device screen size and resolution. “The site is liquid,” Gehrke noted. “It readily adapts to different types of mobile technology, making for a better customer experience.”
For visitors who want to Explore the Twin Capes, links to destinations and attractions are arranged by state in the following categories: History and Heritage; Shopping and Leisure; Wine and Dine; Fun for the Family; Gaming and Golf; Beaches and Parks; and the Great Outdoors. 
“While we are always focused on providing a safe, reliable, and professionally run marine transportation system, the Ferry is also a destination and an integral part of the Twin Capes tourism community,” remarked Gehrke.  “It is a natural to link up with things to do and places to see on both sides of the Bay.”

The Cape May – Lewes Ferry is owned and operated by the Delaware River and Bay Authority, a bi-state governmental agency created by Compact in 1962.
