Cape May – Lewes Ferry Hosts Upton Abbey Trivia Cruise
Special Cruise Scheduled for Sunday, August 11

Cape May, NJ - Pour a cup of tea with the Friends of the Physick Estate and embark upon the Cape May-Lewes Ferry’s Upton Abbey Ferry Cruise on Sunday, August 11. Enjoy a Downton Abbey-themed evening as you cross the Delaware Bay on board the Cape May-Lewes Ferry while testing your expertise with a trivia challenge. The round trip cruise departs Cape May at 8:00 p.m. and returns at 9:30 p.m.
“Downton Abbey is one of the most widely watched television series in the world and we’re excited to partner with the Friends of the Physick Estate on this unique theme cruise,” says Charisse Rudolph, customer service representative manager at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.  “We can’t wait to see our guests dressed in period style clothing and, if you’re a Downton Abbey fan, this cruise is a perfect opportunity to test your knowledge of the hit television series.”   For those that do come dressed up in Downton Abbey era attire, the Cape May – Lewes Ferry will award guests with a future free round trip walk on ticket.

On the initial leg of the voyage, passengers will be tested on their knowledge and trivia of Downton Abbey, the popular and award-winning Masterpiece Classic Theater television series now in its fourth season. On the return trip, guests will be treated to an illustrated program on the Fashions of the Downton Abbey Era by MAC Chief Outreach Officer Mary Stewart.

Event tickets are $23.00 per person. Vessel passengers can enjoy the show for a $5.00 upgrade fee. Space is limited. Light refreshments will be available and Downton Abbey era dress is encouraged! Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Physick Estate, an affinity group of the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC). Throughout the year, the Friends of the Physick Estate presents a variety of entertaining events that help raise funds for continued preservation of Cape May's only Victorian house museum, the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate.
