DRBA Police Arrest Three Juveniles on Graffiti Related Charges
New Castle area boys face multiple charges
(New Castle, DE) On Tuesday March 16, 2010, at about 5:00 p.m., Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) police officers were notified that 3 suspects were in the act of painting graffiti on concrete abutments under Interstate 295 near the Delaware Memorial Bridge. As units responded to the area, the 3 male juvenile suspects fled from responding officers down railroad tracks in the area of Cherry Lane.
After a brief foot chase, the three suspects were captured in the DRBA Veterans Memorial Park. All three subjects - ages 11, 12, and 17 - were charged with graffiti to real property greater than $1,500, conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of graffiti implements, and criminal trespass. The three juveniles, who caused damage estimated to be $10,000, were released to their parents and are to appear at Delaware Family Court to be arraigned at a later date.
