WHAT: U.S. Senator Tom Carper and U.S. Senator Chris Coons will be joined by FAA officials and Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) representatives to announce a $5.4 million grant to construct a new Taxiway at the Wilmington Airport. Two recently completed projects, the improved terminal apron and the expanded parking lot, will also be discussed.

WHY: To meet the economic and aviation needs of the region, significant infrastructure investments have been undertaken at the Wilmington Airport within the past few years. The Federal Aviation Administration grant will help fund the construction of a 2,800 foot section of Taxiway B, which serves Runway 19. Additional infrastructure projects will also be discussed.
