DRBA Police Arrest Couple on Drug Charges
Vehicle Pulled Over for Speeding on I-295 Northbound
(Pennsville, NJ) Today at approximately 12:20 a.m., Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) police stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-295 northbound in Salem County, NJ. Ptl. Chris Schemm observed a grey Mazda traveling 80 mph in a 50 mph zone on the Delaware Memorial Bridge. After stopping the vehicle, Ptl. Schemm smelled what appeared to be burnt marijuana coming from inside the Mazda and observed a bag on marijuana in plain view.
Both the driver, GEORGE DANSO, 45, from the country of Ghana, and the passenger, LISA LIEBLEIN, 45, from Owings Mills, MD, were removed from the car and arrested without incident. A search of the Mazda revealed approximately 5 ounces of marijuana, .3 ounces of hashish, and cash.
DANSO was charged with speeding, possession of marijuana, failure to surrender a controlled dangerous substance, money laundering, driving without a license. He was committed to Salem County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. LIEBLEIN was charged with distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of hashish, and failure to surrender a controlled dangerous substance, and was committed to Salem County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
