MOTORIST ADVISORY – Emergency Roadwork at the Split of I-295 Southbound and U.S. Route 13
(New Castle, DE) On Wednesday, September 30, Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) maintenance personnel will be undertaking emergency roadwork in the vicinity of the Farnhurst Interchange at the split of I-295 Southbound and U.S. Route 13.
To safely accomplish the work, crews will close one of two lanes on I-295 southbound prior to the overpass at the Farnhurst Interchange. In addition, traffic will be limited to the right lane exiting the Interstate for U.S. Route 13. The ramps to access both U.S. Route 13 north and south will be open. This restriction will occur from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Motorists should expect delays. The safety of the traveling public and on-site maintenance workers is the agency’s highest priority. Motorists are urged to be careful and stay alert in and around construction zones, and obey all posted speed limit signs. Motorists may follow the Bridge on Twitter @demembridge for the latest in traffic information.
