MOTORIST ADVISORY – Two Lanes Closed on Delaware-bound Span of Delaware Memorial Bridge for Suspender Rope Construction Work
(New Castle, DE) The Delaware River and Bay Authority’s (DRBA) contractor, American Bridge Company, will be performing suspender rope construction activity on the Delaware bound Span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The construction activity, which is currently taking place in the left lane of the southbound span, involves the replacement of multiple suspender ropes.
On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, the two left lanes on the Delaware-bound span will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to facilitate suspender rope replacement work.
The two right lanes will be open to traffic. Motorists should expect delays. The safety of the traveling public and on-site maintenance workers is the agency’s highest priority. Motorists are urged to be careful and stay alert in and around construction zones, and obey all posted speed limit signs.
