US Army Corps Announces Upcoming Lane Closures on Roth Bridge for Concrete Bridge Deck Repairs
Philadelphia, PA - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District will be conducting concrete deck repairs on the Senator William V. Roth, Jr. Bridge (Route 1) beginning on July 6, 2020 and ending in late August. The repair work will require single lane closures on Route 1 southbound and northbound.
- July 6, 2020 to July 23, 2020: Single lane closure on Route 1 Southbound from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, pending weather.
- July 27, 2020 to August 20, 2020: Single lane closure on Route 1 Northbound from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, pending weather.
The purpose of these concrete deck repairs is to improve the traveling surface for motorists while protecting and maintaining the bridge.
The Senator William V. Roth, Jr. Bridge was built in 1995 and carries State Route 1 over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. The main span is 750 feet long and the overall length of the bridge is 4,650 feet.
