Where can I open an E-ZPass account?
You may open an account with any agency that offers E-ZPass. You can open a DRBA account beginning June 4, 2001.

How can I open a DRBA E-ZPass account?
Application forms will be available starting June 4, 2001. You will have several enrollment options:
• Use the walk-in Customer Service Center that will be located at the existing Information Center in the Administration Building at the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
• Call the Customer Service Center, toll-free
1-866-372-2382 (1-866-DRBAETC), and a DRBA Customer Service Representative will enter the necessary information electronically on your application. You will then be mailed an Account Profile form to sign. Your signature is required because you are agreeing to the Business Rules established by the Authority regarding the use of your E-ZPass tag(s).
• Enter your information using the application form available on the Authority’s website at www.EZPASSDRBA.com

What will be the operating hours of the DRBA’s Customer Service Center?
Customer service representatives will be available to answer your questions from April 18 to June 1, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Beginning Monday, June 4, the extended operating hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday. After July 31, the
regular operating hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. These hours will be adjusted appropriately depending upon the demonstrated needs of our customers.

What types of E-ZPass accounts will be offered by the DRBA?
Private Accounts: Restricted to four or less tags; may include any class vehicle; no charge for
the tags if the account has been secured by an acceptable credit card. (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover will be accepted.)

Business Accounts: Any account with more than four tags will be classified as a “Business" Account. Business accounts may include all vehicle classes. Account holders will be required to pay for each transponder ($22.50 or $28.55 depending on the type of tag required.)

What do I have to pay to open my E-ZPass Account with the DRBA?
• Deposit: If you open your account with cash or a personal check, a $10 deposit fee is required, which is refundable upon the return of your tag. A deposit is not required if you open your account with a credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover). At present, the new toll system software does not accept debit cards; therefore this method of payment will not be available initially.
• Account Balance: The minimum starting
balance will be $25.00 to establish a Private Account with one or two tags. Private Accounts with three or four tags will be charged $50.00. The required prepaid accounts for discount customers ($18.75—Commuter and $20.00—Frequent Traveler) will be assessed in addition to the $25.00 or $50.00 minimum starting balance (see below).

Note: The tags cost either $22.50 or $28.55 each. The customer is not charged for the tag when it is issued to a Private Account.

How do I maintain my account balance?
• If you opened your account using cash or a personal check, you will be required to replenish your $25 or $50 opening balance when your account balance drops to $10. This replenishment can be provided by mail to the Transportation Service Center at P.O. Box 97252, Washington, D.C. 20090 or by walking into the DRBA Customer Service Center at the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
• If you opened your account using a credit card, your account will automatically be replenished when it drops to $10 and your credit card will be charged the appropriate replenishment amount.
• Business Accounts normally require larger cash balances based on the types of vehicles in the fleet and the projected monthly toll use.

Note: Your level of toll use activity may require an adjustment to the $25 or $50 opening balance. Your account will be reviewed every 90 days, and if you are a heavy user of toll facilities and your account has to be replenished frequently, your minimum balance may be adjusted upward accordingly to reduce the frequency of replenishment. The account balance requirement may also be lowered if your limited use of the toll facilities warrants such a change. The credit card companies charge the Authority for a percentage of the replenishment account and the frequency of replenishment.

Do I have to open more than one account to use E-ZPass at other toll facilities?
No. Only one account is necessary to use E-ZPass at the facilities that recognize E-ZPass as a toll payment method. (Note: Some agencies such as the Maryland Transportation Authority currently have their own “Mtag," which will not be converted to an E-ZPass tag until late 2001. Your E-ZPass tag will not function at the Baltimore bridges and tunnels until that time.)
