DRBA employees and their families annually prepare and serve Thanksgiving dinner to needy residents in New Jersey and Delaware. Employees look forward to hosting the event, which began in 1993, and enjoy working side by side with other DRBA employees to make someone else’s day a little brighter. Thanksgiving dinners with all the trimmings are provided to needy residents of Penns Grove, Carneys Point, Pennsville and Salem, New Jersey, and Wilmington and New Castle, Delaware. Each year we serve an estimated 700 area residents in a makeshift dining facility at the bridge complex, and DRBA police officers deliver approximately 250 meals to people unable to travel to the bridge complex. The DRBA works with several area nonprofit organizations and receives food donations from a number of area businesses, which greatly contributes to the event’s success.
