The DRBA Job Application Process

All job applications for DRBA positions are submitted online. All open jobs posting are listed on the main HR web page with links to a specific application form and job description for each open job. Below are the most frequently asked questions (FAQs), but if you have a question not seen here, please send an email to Talent.Acquisition@drba.net. If you do not have access to a personal computer, computers are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Delaware Memorial Bridge Administration Building Lobby in New Castle, DE and applications can also be completed via mobile devices such as smart phones or tablets. You may also use public computers located in many community libraries, or perhaps can gain internet access through computers or other digitally enabled devices owned by family or friends who may help you.

Below are the most asked questions about the job application process. When you see the question that matches yours, click the arrow to the right to get the drop down with the answer. When done, click on the answer to close it back up when you want to move on to a different question. You can have several answers open at once.

  • HOW AND WHEN CAN I UPDATE MY APPLICATION?

    Changes can be made to your application at any time before the posting is closed.  You can log in using your PIN and make changes before the position closes. If you have forgotten your PIN, please click on the button labeled "Forgot Your Pin?" and you will be asked to enter the email address associated with your account. Your PIN will then be emailed to you.

  • WILL I AUTOMATICALLY BE CONSIDERED FOR OTHER POSITIONS
    IF I PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION?

    No. You must submit a separate application for each position you are interested in.

  • I MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR A SPECIFIC APPLICATION. CAN I STILL APPLY?

    Sorry. Once a closing date has passed, no application will be accepted or considered.  Please continue to visit our website and apply for new jobs as they become available. 

  • CAN I APPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE JOB AT A TIME?

    Yes! Once you have completed your online application, you can apply for multiple positions that are currently open.

  • AN EMAIL ADDRESS IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATIONS.
    I DON'T HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS. HOW DO I GET ONE?

    If you do not already have an email address, free email is available through several internet providers.  We do not endorse any provider, but you may want to visit Yahoo Mail, or Gmail from Google as they are free. You can also search for free email on any computer browser to see other choices.

  • HOW WILL I KNOW IF A POSITION I HAVE APPLIED FOR HAS BEEN FILLED?

    You will receive notification via e-mail regarding the status of the position. Note: Due to the large volume of applications for summer part-time positions, applicants for these jobs may not receive a prompt notification.

  • ARE THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP ME COMPLETE AN APPLICATION?

    Complete the entire application. In addition to full-time work experiences, list any relevant temporary, part-time, internships, volunteer, and military work experiences. Include a resume if desired; however, a resume will not be accepted in lieu of the completed application. Be sure to include your complete education and training background and list any relevant registrations or certifications specific to the position you seek. You can also include professional references. Your application form is our primary source of information in considering you for employment and, therefore, should represent your best effort.

  • WHO SHOULD I CONTACT TO FOLLOW-UP ON MY APPLICATION?

    Applicants may contact Talent.Acquisition@drba.net for information regarding their application.  Applicants who are selected for interviews will be contacted directly by a representative of the Human Resources Talent Acquisition team.

  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION?

    After the closing date on the job posting, the applications are reviewed and screened by the hiring manager as an initial step in the selection and hiring process. The most competitive applicants are contacted for an interview. Applicants who are not selected for an interview are notified by e-mail.

  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE HIRING MANAGER TO
    SCHEDULE INTERVIEWS AFTER A POSITION CLOSES?

    If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted either by telephone or email, usually within two (2) weeks after the closing date.

  • ARE CANDIDATES FOR EMPLOYMENT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT TO A DRUG SCREEN?

    As a condition of employment, candidates selected may be required to pass both a physical examination and drug test depending on the position.  Please see the position requirements.

  • HOW LONG WILL MY APPLICATION REMAIN "ACTIVE"?

    Applications remain active or on file until a hiring decision has been made. Applications are not reactivated for future vacancies.
