The integrity of the department is maintained through a system of internal discipline and that fairness and justice are assured by objective, impartial investigation and review of complaints against members and employees of the department. The purpose is to improve the quality of police services and citizen confidence in the integrity of the police department. To identify problem areas, if any, requiring increased training or direction of members and employees of the department.
Victim/Witness Assistance Officers
The department is committed to preserving and protecting the rights and safety of victims and witnesses with whom we come into contact. As a result of this commitment, all members and employees are encouraged to use every means at their disposal to ensure that all victims and witnesses are treated with fairness, compassion, and dignity, and to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Victims Bill of Rights for both Delaware and New Jersey.
Public Service Aide
The general responsibilities of the Public Service Aide are providing assistance to motorists, maintaining and posting flags at the Delaware Memorial Bridge, removing debris from Authority highways and serving as a first responder to minor hazmat situations, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and vehicle fires. Public Service Aides promote a professional and courteous environment at Delaware Memorial Bridge facilities when they interact with the public and co-workers
