New Wall of Remembrance at Veterans Memorial Park Dedication
Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) representatives and Delaware elected leaders will gather to officially dedicate and unveil the newly renovated and significantly expanded Wall of Remembrance at Veterans Memorial Park. The new wall memorializes more than 16,000 service men and service women from both states who died serving the United States in all conflicts from World War II to the present day. The ceremony will feature brief remarks from federal and state officials, a ribbon cutting ceremony, and ceremonial raising of all six service flags. WHO: The Honorable Matt Meyer, Governor of Delaware President Joe Biden The Honorable Lisa Blunt Rochester, U.S. Senator The Honorable Sarah McBride, U.S. Representative Mr. Joel Coppadge, Executive Director, DRBA (Master of Ceremonies) WHEN: Tuesday, November 11, 2025 – 10:00 a.m. – 10:25 a.m. WHERE: Veterans Memorial Park, 163 Cherry Lane, New Castle, DE 19720 adjacent to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. (The Remembrance Wall Unveiling will take place within the park. Please follow signage upon arrival.) WHY: The dedication marks the completion of a major renovation and expansion of the iconic Wall of Remembrance Memorial Monument. This project ensures a sacred and permanent space to honor the more than 16,000 brave men and women from Delaware and New Jersey who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. The Delaware Memorial Bridge honors and memorializes those who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War II to the present day. The new Wall of Remembrance was expanded to include the names of those who perished in conflicts from the Vietnam War to present day and added the Force Space service flag, the sixth branch of our armed services.
