WHY: The dedication marks the completion of a major renovation and expansion of the iconic Wall of Remembrance Memorial Monument. This project ensures a sacred and permanent space to honor the more than 16,000 brave men and women from Delaware and New Jersey who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. The Delaware Memorial Bridge honors and memorializes those who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War II to the present day. The new Wall of Remembrance was expanded to include the names of those who perished in conflicts from the Vietnam War to present day and added the Force Space service flag, the sixth branch of our armed services.
