Lewes Team Fights Hunger and Homelessness with Shepherd's Office

As our nation observed National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) offered the dedicated efforts of our team at the Cape May – Lewes Ferry Lewes location. In a remarkable display of community spirit, our employees came together to support a vital local organization, Shepherd's Office Ministries, by preparing and delivering 250 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and 250 complete lunch bags.

A Mission of Service: The DRBA's Community Initiative

The ambitious goal of assembling 250 lunch bags was met with enthusiasm from the entire team. This initiative was made possible through the hard work and commitment of numerous individuals, many of whom gave their personal time to help. After our staff ensured everything was put together, they loaded up and braved the cold to deliver bags to those in need.

This initiative could not have come at a better time, underscoring the DRBA's commitment to our community during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. It is a testament to the compassion and hard work of our employees, showing that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
